If you want to know the age of rent in u-haul, your answer is here. You’ll be able to speak to a U-Haul representative at your local branch. If you need to contact them, you can find their contact information by accessing your reservation online at https://www.uhaul.com/Orders/. According to the most convenient location and available equipment, U-Haul reserves the right to schedule alternate pick-up locations and equipment.
The minimum age for renting a trailer is 16 years of age, and the minimum age for renting a truck is 18. The only people who can rent our trucks and trailers are those with valid drivers’ licenses. When equipment is picked up, we would like to see the cardholder present. Someone else can pick up the equipment, but they should sign the contract and be responsible for it. They will also be required to provide adequate assurances, such as a credit card, driver’s license, and phone number to confirm. Two forms of acceptable identification must be presented by renters who are 18-23 years of age. A $25 underage surcharge will be added to rental rates for drivers ages 18 to 23.
The Rent Payment Process
At the time of pick-up, you are to pay the total amount estimated for your rental. Credit cards, debit cards, and cash are all accepted as payment methods. (Debit cards may not be accepted by Canadian independent dealer locations.) In order to reassure U-Haul that our equipment will be returned on the agreed-upon date, at the agreed-upon location, and in the condition, we require a minimum of two forms of Meaningful Assurance.
If paying by cash, the following is due when you pick up your equipment.
- If you must use a truck in town, the cost is $100 or the estimated rental cost (whichever is greater).
- A trailer or tow within the town limits will cost $75 or the estimated rental charges (whichever is greater).
- Truck rental plus $100 for one-way service.
- For a one-way trailer or tow, a $75 plus rental rate is required.
The company does require a major credit card or debit card with a primary credit card logo to provide meaningful assurance for renters of trucks and cargo vans.
Not all locations accept checks. To determine whether check payment will be received at your pick-up location, don’t hesitate to get in touch with them in advance.
